Earth's Star Force Marines invade an alien world!

In the second book of the Star Force series, Kyle Riggs has another bad year. The Nano ships have a new mission - one that sentences their pilots to death. Meanwhile, the governments of Earth want to steal Star Force's Nano technology for their own. Worst of all, Earth has made a promise to the Macros, and the machines are coming to collect.

Extinction is the story of Earth's entry into an interstellar war between living creatures and machines. And to buy the peace, we've signed up with the machines.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

No

Any additional comments?

I like the story but his character development is a bit hard to believe. The main character goes from being a teacher to a ruthless disciplinarian and it seems a bit out of character. More disturbing is the fact that he is the only soldier with a girlfriend along for the ride... the "love story", IMO, detracts from the main story and is just plain silly.

Love Story On The Battlefield?

The story sequence is not coherent. The assumption on what the macros can and cannot do seemed twisted to serve the story. Also, the idea that a full army can go rouge on its command without questioning was ridiculous

I rated it three because I like the narrator and somehow the story's basic logic attracts me

I wouldn't recommend it but it might be appealing to someone else anyway

The story logic is lost

This series begins to pick up speed at the first off-planet mission of Star Force. Don't expect much in way of deeper understanding, just enjoy the wild ride.

Worthwhile sequel
