Her first Christmas might be the last Christmas.

Tadra has known her entire life that she was meant for a great destiny. But she never expected it to happen like this: trapped in a strange new world, her magic broken and her voice silenced, unable to shift to anything other than a tiny shadow of her firebird's glory.

Ansel's kiss releases Tadra from her glass prison...just in time to face the battle bearing down on both of them.

The local mall is decked out for Christmas, but no one in line for Santa Claus knows that the changing of the year is when barriers become weak and a great evil is about to escape into the ordinary human world. When their friends are lost, only Tadra and Ansel stand together against the coming forces of darkness.

The final ornament has been found. The final knight has been released. The final fight is coming.

The conclusion of this off-beat series is a story of love, sacrifice, mercy, and triumph, full of all the holiday magic, humor, and true love you've come to expect from Fae Shifter Knights, with a guaranteed happy-ever-after!

I loved Tadra and Ansel’s story - trying to unlock magic while trying not to fall in love and trying to save the world. This is the fourth and final book in this series. It is an exciting story full of love, danger, drama, silliness, and some mystery. And oh the feels! Tadra is the final fae knight in the series. She’s a firebird. The glass ornament she was trapped in is broken and Ansley repairs it and releases Tadra. Unfortunately, the breaking of the ornament seems to have hurt Tadra’s physical self. It’s also getting closer to the night when the veil between our world and the knights’ world is the thinnest and all the knights and their keys will be needed to stop the evil. The story includes what you’d expect from this genre - fighting, dangerous situations, end of the world scenarios, paranormal creatures, evil masterminds, henchmen, loyal friends and family, tragic back stories, plot twists, mystical coincidences, snark, and laughs. It also includes witty dialogue, characters with depth, and an engaging storyline. This can be read as a standalone but are best read in order as there is an overarching story arc that weaves through all the books. I will miss the fae knights now that the series is over.

Travis Baldree and Stephanie Németh-Parker did a phenomenal job narrating the story and characters into life with enough change of inflection, tone and cadence to voice multiple characters quite convincingly.

Tadra and Ansel a wonderful couple and a perfect end to the series
