I'm not sure what I was expecting.

I bought this, and I couldn't get through the first hour. Just simply didn't keep my interest. I do not have a problem listening to or reading books. I've read some pretty poor ones. something about this one just didn't pace right. very slow. Just simply to cerebral. during a fight a character dodging an attacker came to the conclusion that this must be an attempt to overthrow the kingdom and such. That's a moment for reflection during conversation with survivors at a later point. Simply placed in the wrong spot but that's what you see all throughout This book.

Slow buildup, to make thing interesting.

Slow build up to anything interesting. it's an adult in a child's body. There's several references to the child having sex with adult men and women. So depending on your comfort level with that, something to consider

According to the beginning of the book, this is narrated by an AI. which created some continuity issues, as you can tell by the name of the book Fletcher, it has to do with bows and arrows. However, the AI keeps referring to the bow that you shoot arrow with as bowing. Like you would do when you greet royalty. So imagine there's a part in the story where a hero grabs a Bow a but the ai says word bow as in bowing from the waist. So every time that happens it interrupts the flow of the story and you kind of pause for a second. They should have cleaned that up

Good Addition to P.S. Powers Catalog. This like many of his other writings covers human behavior, both good and bad. Big fan of the magical system.
