As Robert and Yekong travel to Hong Kong to put an end to the slavers who are trying to reclaim Yekong, Alistair flies to Russia to warn their sister of the cultists hunting them. Meanwhile, plans of the religious fanatics proceed, endangering Alistair’s family and setting the stage for a new age of man under their control.

Son of the last Nephilim, Alistair finds himself fighting a battle on two fronts as he attempts to protect those he loves while stopping the machinations of mad cultists. Thankfully, he has resourceful and powerful allies.

This one!
I loved hearing all about the siblings. More in depth characters. Non stop action.

Alistair, Yekong and Ghost/Robert are back joined with sisters Callista and Elizabetta and Alistair's chosen/adopted human family. There are twisted plots to take over the world, attempted and accomplished murders and many lives saved, action and adventure. That's as close to a spoiler as I'm going to get. A C Oliver's Narrative is mostly good. Yekong's slower diction eventually bled into Alistair's character's voice which made things kind of confusing sometimes, especially when Alistair used words that came from the naturally larger vocabulary of one comfortable with speaking English, rather than someone who isn't like Yekong. Let's just say, it was good enough that I already bought the next book😁.

Warning:
Just like in book one, there is violence so please do not read if it is a trigger for you.

OMG, Ghost and the Midnight Sky was so much better than book one of the series, The Hunt Begins. So much character development that you can feel the disdain, mistrust and the over protectiveness from each person. There were times during the story that I agreed with the assessments. For example, I also believed that Yekong was too obsessed with Cynthia. Like seriously, William is family too, what about him! I also loved the fact that the story took you through the different perspectives from the main characters.

AC Oliver did a much better job with this book in bringing the characters to life and staying in character for them. It was a lot easier to follow who was who this time around. That creepy scary voice that was used for Alistair at the beginning of book one, he brought back at the end for Ghost! Awesome work!
