The path from retail middle management to inter-dimensional wizard adventurer wasn’t easy.

But Jason Asano is settling into his new life. Now, a contest draws young elites to the city of Greenstone to compete for a grand prize. Jason must gather a band of companions if he is to stand a chance against the best the world has to offer.

While the young adventurers are caught up in competition, the city leaders deal with revelations of betrayal as a vast and terrible enemy is revealed. LitRPG means Literary Role Playing Game. Simply put, it’s the book version of watching someone play a video game, usually one that’s set up like an MMO (massively multiplayer online) RPG. It’s a blend of sci-fi and fantasy, depending on how it comes to be that our main character ends up living inside a virtual reality. the point of LitRPG is not how we get there, but that we get to be in this virtual reality period, living life as a badass video-game character. Beat the grind and submerse yourself in these addictive LitRPGs.

I’ve recently read book 1 and I have to admit the author has improved on character development but there were some story elements that could have been better. This book felt shorter than the first and the ending did leave me a bit confused.
*Spoilers*
I believe the author has really improved Jason’s character. We are getting to know him more and he longer goes on a religious rant about the gods. I do feel like book one characters became pointless and I’m mostly referring to Rufus and Garry. I really loved those characters and I wished Jason would have formed a team with them. I love Clyde and Hempfrey but I reallyyy don’t care for Sophie or Belinda tbh they are very boring characters, I rather focus on Jason developing and getting stronger. Overall it’s better than book one but the battle was at times confusing. I hope someone enjoys this honest review and book 3 here I come.

Not perfect but overall better

After enjoying the first book, I was a little worried having read the reviews for this. If you enjoyed the first, I doubt the sjw preaching will put you off this, it doesn't dial it up that much

Not as preachy as the other reviews make out

I’ve enjoyed this series, listening from beginning every time a new book is released. The humor is a nice addition that makes me smile.

Amazing story, amazing characters with well thought out and elaborate backgrounds, the main character is funny to me and get himself in to some cool situations. The narration is what really stands out! I could listen to him read for a long time and not get bored! 2nd book was shorter than the first but that’s okay, can’t wait for #3

Best LITRPG I’ve read yet!!!
