Honey Jane Moon is a scrappy little know-it-all - brave, smart, but ill-prepared to become the most famous child star in America, even though she’s not quite as young as everyone believes. It won’t take her long to drive the men in her life crazy. There’s Eric Dillion, a smoldering bad boy and one of Hollywood’s most gifted actors. And Dash Coogan, the last of the cowboy heroes, a man trapped on a screen too small to contain a legend. When Honey falls in love, she’ll do it the only way she knows how - with all her heart.

I always enjoy Susan Elizabeth Phillip’s way of telling stories about life’s difficulties with entertaining and atypical storylines. You have to go along with some of the less than realistic events. That’s part of the fun. You never exactly where or how things develop. It took awhile for me to know how Honey Moon’s story would tie back in to the Silverlake Amusement park, but as usual, through many possible foibles to a satisfying conclusion,, it all came together at the end. She has an uncanny way of presenting life challenges with silliness, humor and just when you think all is lost, a few miracles appear to give hope that all will be well, and love conquers all. And as a North Carolina resident, I enjoyed how traditions like Seaside attractions of my youth up and down the Atlantic coast don’t always survive competing with the huge and expensive amusement parks of millennia.

A roller coaster ride with surprising twists and turns

I didn’t think I would like it when I started reading. I couldn’t define the characters but as it progressed it became more understandable. It made me cry!!! It made me laugh!! But had a very good/happy and thought provoking ending.

A Very Long Story

I’ve read this book many times over the years. I really related to Honey as a woman on so many levels. I loved her big heart and how she loved her family so deeply.
The reader did especially well conveying the different emotions of each character.

A book you’ll go back to over and over
