There is so much I want to say about this book. First, I absolutely loved it. I bought it on sale and was not expecting much from it except a time filler. It blew me away with the depth. This was my first book from this author, but it definitely won’t be my last! When I read the publisher summary I thought it might be cheesy and shallow. For the first hour or so I was just listening along without much investment into the story. There was a turning point when Alex assigned Daisy to the Elephants. This is where the depth of story starts to unfold. From that point on little nuggets get revealed that completely sucked me in and the character and plot depth really opens up. There is so much to the story. I highly recommend this book!

Best book ever!

I have read this book a ton of times and when I saw it was available on Audible I had to listen to it.
It was GREAT!! Sometimes books sound better outside of our head and played out loud.
Anna Fields did a great job. However, I wish they had used a bit younger voice actor as Anna sounds older than Daisy's would (age 26). SEP is an amazing author and I so wish she had 1000000 of books to read/listen too.

How surprised I was that I enjoyed this book!

I bought it because I like the author, then realized it had a circus theme and was very skeptical that I’d like it. Though it was a common theme - two damaged characters with little hope of changing either of them…. However, the characters were well depicted and were very colorful and even the main animal characters were fleshed out so that the reader could clearly see their personalities. The author really makes a valid case for taking wild animals out of the circus habitat and putting them back into their natural one.
