One cowboy, one bar, one hell of a holiday!

She means business . . .

Sharlene Waverly is determined to have the "new and improved" Honky Tonk up and running before the holiday. For that, she'll need Holt Jackson, the best darn carpenter in the state. But his warm, whisky-colored eyes make her insides melt, and before she knows it, she's sharing her darkest secrets and talking about the nightmares . . .

He's determined to keep things professional . . .

Holt Jackson needs the job at the Honky Tonk, but is completely unprepared to handle the beautiful new bar owner he's working for.

Sharlene and Holt try like crazy to deny the sparks flying between them, but their love may just be the best Christmas present either one of them ever got.

Good book but this book was not a great listen and not as fun as the other books.

Good But

I hate writing bad reviews but when I spend money on a credit it makes me mad the book is so bad after looking forward to it for so long. This is nothing like the others in this series. The story line was a big phony with supposedly a strong woman. The man was a righteous jerk, even though he took in the two kids, They kept it interesting. Too much war story. Still mad about the ending., but I am still a Carolyn Brown fan.

So disappointed.

I really did not care for this narrator. At one point the story said that the one thing the cowboy loved was the smooth southern sound of her voice. This narrator is anything but smooth. I really enjoy this author and have read and enjoyed many of her books but this one just lagged in several places for me.

Just OK
