Critic reviews

A thorough, wise, and loving contribution to the complexities and wonder of our relationship to food, bodies, and self-worth.
-Geneen Roth, New York Times best-selling author Women Food and God and This Messy Magnificent Life

She discovered, as I did, that handling your weight issues is as much as spiritual practice as it is physical or emotional . . . Wherever you are in this process, I think you will find Samantha's book a source of wisdom and a healing for your heart.
-Gay Hendricks, Ph.D., author of The Big Leap and Conscious Loving

Not just a book, it's a movement . . . This is a must read for anyone who has ever experienced food and body struggles and craves sustainable transformation at a deep level.
-John Assaraf, CEO NeuroGym and featured in The Secret

This is the kind of book you wish you had access to in your teens. I’ll definitely revisit the material and work through the exercises. I bought a copy for my mom and will recommend to friends. Thank you, Samantha Skelly, for your wisdom & hard work!

In this book the author talked about her journey to heal herself after she nearly killed herself through starvation. Follow the journey of the author as she talks about how she starved herself because she thought she was fat. How she lied to people and hid the truth until she couldn’t anymore. Here is her journey to heal herself even when she didn’t know she was doing it. There were lots of surprises along the journey and lots of good lessons.

Samantha holds nothing back in telling her story, and in providing deep, valuable exercises along the way to give readers a knowing of what is possible for us. I’ve read this once through and will read it several more times because every time I do, I’m uplifted, inspired, and most importantly reminded of what is true about the path I’ve been on vs the path that I truly desire.

This book works! It’s healing. It’s real. More than relatable, it’s a hand-held guide if you realize that you can use it that way. Well done.
