"M.A. Wardell's stories are sweetness and spice wrapped into a big, warm hug." ―Alice Oseman, bestselling author of Heartstopper

Family isn't only about blood. It's about the people we choose.

Olan Stone wants nothing more than to spend the rest of his life with kindergarten teacher Marvin Block. And his daughter, Illona, can’t wait to call Marvin her stepfather. They’re bashert—meant to be. However, as the big day approaches, family tensions and unresolved issues put their future together in jeopardy.

Marvin thought he and Olan had everything all figured out. But he’s realizing that their whirlwind romance may not be the foundation for a lifetime commitment after all. As they struggle through the changes that life is throwing their way, will they be drawn closer together or farther apart?

Truly great stuff here, I love getting to see Olan and Marvin as an established couple, and how they work thru stuff together. I was a little stressed at the beginning of this but I should have known to trust where we were going. This is the epitome of queer joy. Great narration, the kids voices were especially endearing for me, and was nice to hear Olan’s perspective in his emails.

Words cannot express how much joy this book, and the entire series, have brought to me. I love stories about people falling in love and finding their family. I’m sooo happy for Marvin, Olan and their little family. I love catching up with Vincent, Kent, Theo, Sheldon and all the friends. I’m glad to read that they’re all doing well and they’ve all become a family of their own. I love how M.A. Wardell addresses issues that are unique to interracial couples. I love how the issues of addiction, anxiety, OCD etc are addressed, it’s evident that care and research went into these stories. I especially love the Motown lessons 😁, I found myself singing the songs as I listened. There’s really nothing that I didn’t love about this book or the series. I do wish that we could get more stories in this world 🤞🏽. I also wish that we could have gotten more from Olan’s point of view especially while he was in Chicago with his family and dealing with everything. I will continue to visit this series and pretend that I’m friends with them 😝.

Full circle for the teachers in love
