Every monster needs someone who understands them. I never thought it would be me.

As a newly licensed psychologist fresh out of graduate school, I thought I was prepared for anything. Then I met Axel Morrison—charismatic, brilliant, and the most dangerous inmate in the facility. A man whose violent past should have sent warning signals blaring through my mind.

Instead, I found myself drawn to him. To the darkness behind those piercing green eyes that seemed to see right through my professional facade to the shadows I've spent a lifetime denying.

Each therapy session becomes a dangerous dance. The line between doctor and patient blurring with every session. While I'm supposed to be analyzing him, he's methodically taking me apart, piece by piece.

My colleagues warn me, and my training screams at me to maintain boundaries. But the pull between us is electric, inevitable, and completely forbidden.

I've always been the good girl, the anxious overachiever desperate to help others. Now, I'm risking everything—my career, my freedom, my sanity—for a man who destroys everything he touches.

The most terrifying part? As his obsession with me grows, so does mine with him.

They say we're all one decision away from disaster. I've made mine. And these prison walls no longer protect the world from him—they imprison me with my darkest desires.

Imprisoned is a dark prison romance standalone with heavy subjects that some listeners may find triggering. At the beginning of the book, you will have access to a full list of the warnings. This story has no cliffhanger and ends with a HEA.

Great tension and build up. Interesting characters and well written backdrop. Deliciously spicy steam. Plenty of very hot detailed scenes without it making you smut numb. This one’s definitely going on my listen again list. More than worth the credit. Solid plot, great male and female narration , and decently long without ever getting boring. Iv gotten all her audiobooks on Audible and so far this one might be my favorite. Extremely satisfied with the book, highly recommend!

There's a few things here.

I'm not a fan of any book where the (random person or personality) inside me tells me to (Insert batshit crazy, not character appropriate behavior).

I am not convinced of this woman's decisions. Did she really get 3 degrees to f up her entire life within a year?

For a guy with so much going on in his head, in his life, shouldn't he have a personality? Obviously he's into her because shes the single attractive woman in this place, but why she picked him over the other guys in this prison is a question. Because he growls twice?

What's the plot? The bit driving the story is completely absent. Just a little slice of a woman who should be in a different kind of institution.

The sex scenes are meh.

The book feels like it had an editor.

I was so hopeful but…it fell flat.
There’s nothing redeeming about the MMC, he’s a schizophrenic, psychopathic, prison convict who killed without reason because the voices in his head told him to. I would’ve appreciated more character depth there, but that’s as deep as it goes with him: He’s a bad guy cause he’s bad, period. The FMC helps soothe the voices in the MMC’s head for a few chapters with no explanation as to why, the reader is just expected to take that at face value. Later in the book, the voices come back but that doesn’t seem to matter for some reason…? The chemistry between the two leads was so shallow and underdeveloped, it was pretty hard for me to buy in to.
Somehow this young FMC who is working her first therapist job out of college and still living with her mother somehow also becomes an expert hacker, money launderer, architect/detective/FBI evader..? Also hard to buy in to.
Overall, very insta-love prison romance but if you turn off all rational and critical thinking then it’s tolerable.

Biggest redeeming quality was the duet narration. The voice actors were superb!
