A marriage, a friendship, the fate of a missing child. All three hang in the balance.

Noah and Dana are already facing a difficult time in their short marriage when their daughter, Samara, is abducted. The fallout from friends and family, and the harsh judgment of the public, force them to face some difficult truths about their views on love, marriage, and race. As Dana reflects on the road leading to her and Noah's union, she begins to examine her motives for getting married, consider whether they should go on, and most painfully, question whether she and her husband ever really knew each other at all.

OMG.... this storyline hooks you early on. The kidnapping is an interesting story but it's really the background to the story of the relationship. It's the twists and turns in the relationship that has all of the stress and drama. It makes you think, how would I feel? What would I do? Then you find yourself wanting to tell this woman to get out of her own way! What does this man have to do for you to see his love is genuine and true??? This is not a typical love story but you feel the love..... and the insecurities.

Such a GREAT Storyline!!

This is the 3rd book I’ve read and listened to by this author! Great story telling and the complexity of the characters and how she portrays them has me hooked. I finished this book in one day. I also love the narrator she has telling the stories!! So so good. Drama and suspense, love and laughter. Her characters are so real and relatable and it’s not always a fairytale ending

Fantastic Story

This is an engrossing powerful suspense novel. I was glued to the pages from the opening of the story where baby Samora was kidnapped. The story also touches on the dynamics of the interracial relationship and socio-economic backgrounds between Dana and Noel, who are the baby’s parents. This is a well-written, suspenseful and captivating story. The narrator, A’rese Emokpae, did a superb job in delivering this story in audio.

Excellent Read!
