Devney Perry
From USA Today best-selling author Devney Perry comes a small-town, enemies-to-lovers romance.
Winslow Covington believes in life, liberty, and the letter of the law. As Quincy, Montana’s new chief of police, she’s determined to prove herself to the community and show them she didn’t earn her position because her grandfather is the mayor.
According to her pops, all she has to do is earn favor with the Edens. But winning over the town’s founding family might have been easier if not for her one-night stand with their oldest son. In her defense, it was her first night in town, and she didn’t realize that the rugged and charming man who wooed her into bed was Quincy royalty.
Sleeping with Griffin Eden was a huge mistake, one she’s trying to forget. He’s insufferable, arrogant, and keeps reminding everyone that she’s an outsider. Winslow does her best to avoid Griffin, but when a woman is found dead on Eden property, the two of them have no choice but to cross paths.
As clues to the murderer lead to one of Quincy’s own, Griffin realizes Winslow is more than he gave her credit for. Beautiful and intelligent, she proves hard to resist. For him. And the killer.

Winslow is the new outsider and Griffin is the hometown boy that most people love. Together they navigate the new territory they both are entering. All of the side characters in the book are amazing. I love Winn’s grandpa Covie, and Griff’s Uncle Briggs. I love the suspense and the wondering who done it. The twist in this story was like that final sharp turn on your favorite roller coaster, you know it’s coming, you’re not sure what it’s going to be like, but it makes the ride all that much better.
The magic part for me, outside of the amazing story and writing, is the fact that Griffin has taken over as my favorite Devney Perry lead man. I have been faithful to the man that shows up in this story, but like an unfaithful partner, I turned my back on him and jumped on the Griff train!!! I am so excited to read on in this series. Do not delay, read this book now!!!
P.S. if I run away and end up in Montana looking for a hot rancher, don’t come looking for me! 😂😂
The narration in this book is hot hot hot. Jacob Morgan delivers in this book and his voice is panty melting. Vanessa Edwin was the perfect Winslow. I cannot say enough about the narration.
Should be more than 5 stars

Winslow, Winn or Winnie, is new in town after moving from Bozeman and has just become the chief of police for Quincy, Montana. Her grandfather, Walter Covington “Covie”, is the major of Quincy and after breaking up with her fiancé of 8 years and losing her parents, Winn had nothing holding her to Bozeman. On her first night in town Winn ends up at the locals bar and meets Griffin. After they both assume the other isn’t local, they spend the night drinking and playing shuffleboard at the bar together before ending the night with some fun in his truck. Winn isn’t looking to get involved with anyone local and Griffin is the same way, only hooking up with out-of-towners. But the next day things get complicated at lunch, Winn is with her grandfather and he takes her to The Eloise Inn, ran and owned by Griffin’s family, and Griffin shows up with his dad. Winn quickly learns that Griffin is part of the Edens family, Quincy’s founding family (his great-great-grandfather founded Quincy).
Griffin took over the family ranch 3 years ago and when one of his ranch-hands finds a dead body over the edge of Indigo Ridge, things get complicated. Winn finds out that this body makes 7 suicides (all but 1 were young women) that have happened in the past 10 years in the small town and she is instantly on edge. Thinking there is more to the story she starts investigating. Her and Griffin also start up a fling together, kind of a no-strings-attached situation for a while before realizing they both want more.
I enjoyed this start to the series. I did want more of a focus on their romance, but I did really enjoy them as a couple. I loved seeing the Edens family and how close they all are, I can’t wait for the rest of the books in the series. Griffin is the oldest of the 6 Edens siblings: Knox, Lyla and Talia (the twins), Eloise, Mateo. I loved how the family embraced Winn and her grandfather into their family. The mystery/suspense element of the book I wasn’t a fan of how that wrapped up, but otherwise a solid start to the series!
Loved meeting the Edens!
