Invasions and sabotage. Two civilizations doing anything to exist. War crimes are the norm.

Joe takes his first step into exile, and is promptly unable to breathe. This new Zone has a higher concentration of power, magnitudes denser. His first task is to survive, but mere survival is the least of his concerns.

The Zone he has landed on has been in a state of constant war for thousands of years, a tug of war between the Elven and Dwarven societies. Not choosing a side is the same as declaring both to be your personal enemy. Though he is resistant, Joe reluctantly decides to go with the group he thinks will help him grow the most - and is instantly plunged into their bitter war. To gain the freedom he desires, Joe needs to turn to the less savory aspects of his class.

Engulfed by darkness, Joe can only hope he’ll be able to snuff out the light.

LitRPG means Literary Role Playing Game. Simply put, it’s the book version of watching someone play a video game, usually one that’s set up like an MMO (massively multiplayer online) RPG. It’s a blend of sci-fi and fantasy, depending on how it comes to be that our main character ends up living inside a virtual reality. the point of LitRPG is not how we get there, but that we get to be in this virtual reality period, living life as a badass video-game character. Beat the grind and submerse yourself in these addictive LitRPGs.

Engaging Plot Progression • Humorous Storytelling • Excellent Voice Acting • Complex Characters • Clever World-building

I enjoyed the book but it seemed like it was missing something. I can't put my finger on it. The narration by Luke is still amazing I'm glad he became the narrator for the series. but the story still felt lacking.

I enjoyed it but.....

I don't know if it was the setting, the people, or just the change of scenery. But I actually found myself enjoying this book more than the previous. I liked that it got a little more mythical with the elves and dwarfs and we got information on their society, how it worked, and how to progress. The book answered questions I didn't know I had from the other books!
Now, I like Joe and we see that he is capable of doing amazing, super powerful stuff! But couldn't he focus a little more on combat? I get what they are going for and yeah, If I was stuck I a game for all of eternity I'd want to be planning for my future as well. But Joe is soo non-conbat focused its amazing he doesn't die more often and It distracts from the story. Joe, again, realizes that he sucks at combat, promises to get better, some how survives, then does nothing to improve his combat. This is the first time Joe really has weapons and armor that give him combat abilities and its only because they were more or less pushed onto him by others.

A change of pace that I actually liked.

Dakota Krout had another incredible performance in Inflame. I was prepared for a gentle descent from greatness to mediocrity by book 6, but I was pleasantly surprised to see this as exciting and fun as his previous 5 books.

Exciting and Fun! Good as ever!

Another gem from the twisted mind of Krout, and the talented vocals of Daniels!

My 2 cets worth.

Another one over the bck fence

Great story— the voices of the dwarves/elves were very off putting. I am listening to the whole story anyways. I love the narration voice and the voice of Joe/the humans specifically.
I absolutely love joe as a character and the new inflection this voice actor puts in Joes voice.

Love this book
