Adam Cesare Nails Another Violent YA Thriller!

As a huge fan of the Clown in a Cornfield series of books, this was a no-brainer for me to read. I was not disappointed.

The book is clever, violent and well written.

A MUST READ!

A binge-worthy dark thriller!

Okay! I broke away from my usual romcom/fantasy/hist fic scene to try this thriller and I really enjoyed it! It took a couple chapters to have my brain stop thinking Conrad Fisher is a raging psychopath LOL but Christopher Briney did a great job bringing the dark twisted mind of Aaron to life. I agree with other reviewers that this is a dark read because it feels like a scenario like this could happen and that gives me shivers. The story itself moved quickly and I’m satisfied with how it ended but wish we could’ve gotten more of a follow up on how everyone is doing later/more removed by the final scenes which is why I docked a star. Audible has this story listed under teen and young adult but I’d go ahead and say put this under horror thriller. There are some disturbing scenes that I wouldn’t have wanted to read as a teen; but if you’re a true crime fan like me, this was a good pick!

I love how in the mind of the manipulater the story was. The dueling of perspectives was attention keeping.

I enjoyed the performance so much I think I would have listened to it even if the writing was poor. But the story drew me in. The book has the feel of You by Kepnes. Loved it!
The one thing I disliked is that no one involves the police till it’s too late. Classic stupidity in thrillers.

worth hearing

The female main character kind of gets on my nerves. Like i want to tell her wake up grow some confidence. Her character remains this sheepish teenager doesn’t really grow. But i guess the story supposed to be like that one character extraordinarily sheepish vs the narcissistic sociopath. Not too bad of a book. Kind of scary that this can be a true story
to see how easy it is to manipulate kids with the right kid of narcissistic personality and the right kind of kids with weak family support.
