Just wow

I enjoyed this story and duet narration. I kept waiting for the author to be like "just kidding" from the cliffhanger after book 1.... Newsflash, that didn't happen. This is an underhyped series for sure and loved how it kept me on my toes.

The author did a phenomenal job with tackling the stages of grief after loss, mental health struggles, and suicide. This duet was so beautiful and just rips your heart out.

This was so good, I was absolutely devastated after the first book and was really hoping the second book would answer my questions. The titles of both books are so fitting. I am so sad it’s over.

I started this book right after the cliffhanger. Luckily it continued right where the story left off. This one was focused more on Ember's journey to healing. What she went through was so heartbreaking. Despite everything I loved that she dealt it the same way she did with everything. With basically finding support from others. I also liked that we discover the truths about some of the mysteries from the first book.

As for the audiobook narration, it was so good! Performed in duet narration by Oscar Reyes and Paige Reisenfeld. They both gave a compelling performance. This book was sad, but uplifting too. They brought out all the emotions with their expressive tones. They both embodied the characters and elevated the story for me. I loved the epilogue. I loved that the story went full circle too.
