An Interesting Adventure

This is a new author to me, I've never read or listened to any of Liv Zander's books before this one but I quite enjoyed it, the narrators did a wonderful job, I could hear the emotion in their voices as the story went on and the story was very original and creative. It's told in dual POV which I liked, first we learn about Ada and the things she's been through and the things she's going through at the beginning of the story. Then we're introduced to Enosh and we learn his story, though we don't learn the stories of his brothers, who are also gods, like himself. Enosh is the King of Flesh and Bone, he has ultimate control of all the bone around him and can call upon a troop of corpses should the need arise.

Ada is a midwife in a small village when we first meet her and she's wanting to keep her late husband in the ground and help a woman in labor, I forget why but one night a year the dead rise from their grave beds and Ada is determined to keep her late husband in the ground. Ada is called 'unwoman' by the villagers because she'd been unable to give her husband a child and they all believed she was cursed.

The story is really creative and has a lot of interesting characters, some of whom are more devious than they first seem. Whenever a member of the Pale Court angers either Enosh or Ada, as punishment they're weaved into a throne of bone and are stuck there for eternity. And we learn that Ada becomes a fearsome queen with a powerful king at her side.

Wow

I have to admit at the beginning I was a lil lost but stuck with it, glad I did because it's been a while since I've been so excited to continue a book. All I can say is well worth credit and the price being asked. Just wow.

A little too much

I love a good forced love villain books, and while this one is 6.8/10, it’s rapey. Usually forced scenes have a lot of character deportment beforehand and more…consent. But this book goes straight into the steamy scenes and is 100% non consensual. While I loveee some dirty boarder line smut, this too me went a little over the line of ick. Storyline is good, not mind blowing but I’m buying the sequel now.

He has the ability to control human bodies in which he basically forces her body and emotions to submit as he takes her again and again.

One for the Masochists

This one is kinda raunchy and rough in the romance department which is likely the reason for the overall rating it has. It might be too much for some people. Paranormal? Yes. Romantic? .... It takes some time. Does that stop sex from happening? Nope. Does the abuse continue throughout the story? Yes. It's definitely not a bad story but it does have some strong themes. The author does a wonderful job bringing this paranormal world to life. Despite all the things happening to the FMC, I truly enjoyed this one. The steamy scenes are absolute fire. Gregory does a wonderful job altering his voice to cover an array of male characters. Auri also reads very well.

Fascinating, Authentic and Intriguing !!!

The book is Fascinating, Authentic and Intriguing. I LOVED IT so much.
The cliffhanger end had me running to purchase the second one!.

Very dark in the dark *Romance* part, it is not for everyone to read.
but, I can assure u, that if u are a Dark Romance reader, u will love it!.

In my opinion, it is better for a male voice actor to read the male character, not a female one. and of course vise versa.
It would make SUCH a difference in the experience.
