Meh *shrug* it was okay

This was an OK read for me. Nothing super special. Partially because I just don't really vibe with the whole contest/pageant trope. It's a little mermaid retelling where the main character is a seal fae who delights in being a klepto and the MMC is the son of a religious organization who persecuted fae. There's a ton of secondhand embarrassment in this book due to the FMC being awkward AF in the beginning. I really liked the Cinderella retelling much better because it threw out the miscommunication and lying tropes whereas this book relies pretty heavily on them. It was cute, had some good moments but overall I wasn't in love with this story.

Twists from the little mermaid story are so good. Loved it along with her other books!

No Dorian's pov

overall a good story, I do wish there was a chapter with Dorian's pov, it would of made story better.
