I got the chance to here Jocko speak in Hawaii this year, and whether he is speaking, writing, or narrating, he delivers his message perfectly. His writer/narrator combo allows him to perfectly emphasize his points, and he has truly helped me shape my leadership style. A must read for any leader or future leader

Perfect for EVERY level of Leadership!

While I’m nearing the end of my career, this book is still perfect! With that being said, I really wish I had this book at the very beginning of my career!

What I found so wonderful about the book is how it helped validate things I’ve done for years, while also very succinctly reminded me of some of my own clear leadership past failures. These reminders are valuable because it can help us from repeating them! Of course it is also racked full of great leadership concepts I still get to deploy and for that I’m grateful.

I plan on recommending this book to all of my peers and command staff! I believe this book has the potential to take any agency’s leadership to the next level; and beyond!

Lastly, I’d be remiss if I didn’t encourage anyone reading this review to also do what I did. I started with the book Extreme Ownership and then read Dichotomy of Leadership. Combined, I believe these three books can help take any L.E. Agency or private business to the top of their potential.

Another great leadership Guide!

Jocko has once again exceeded expectations. A book any leader should have on their desk!

Must Read for Leaders

I’ve read every book that Jocko has written. This includes all of the children’s books that I’ve read to my son. His books have taught me a ton and helped me to be a better leader and human being.

This book is my favorite. Sections 3 and 4 were especially impactful and I will use these strategies that were explained. I really liked the section on Reflect and Diminish. I have already started using some of his advice and the results have been better than expected.

If you lead or follow others, reading this book will help you improve.

Great bullet points on leadership

I have been in leadership positions in various organizations through my life, usually small teams. This was a very good overview of lots of information. I think new and experienced leaders can get a lot out of this. Each chapter was a good point, with examples and counterpoint. Highly recommended. The author's speaking style was percussive and impactful speaking style, which I found a bit relentless and tiring. Now I need the print version for reference!
