A powerful novel of brotherhood and the search for happiness from number one New York Times best-selling author, Jocko Willink.

Johnny is stuck - living at home and watching after his brother while working as a stock boy is not what he dreamed about. But when he and his best friend, Goat, see an opportunity to break free of the monotony and take care of Johnny's brother all in one shot, they jump on it. Now they're on the run and about to find out the price for freedom.

A moving and fast-paced thriller, Final Spin is a gripping exploration into brotherhood and sacrifice- straight from the dark heart of America.

You know how when you watch a great movie and you describe it as “very un-Hollywood”? This book is like that to me. I really enjoyed the story, the way it unfolds and the unique details. The way he “leaves out” some of the descriptive sentences that would regularly be included is almost like missing lines of text. But those descriptions are not necessary, the picture is still vivid in your mind because it is what you already know. You know characters like this in your own life. There is an economy of words. It’s kind of like poetry, and I do not appreciate poetry. I don’t get poetry. I get this book and I get this story. It doesn’t use shocking language, it is just human and gritty and real. It’s a story, it’s different and I found I really liked it.

Storytelling like some sort of unorthodox poetry

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. It's a little on the short side and I just downloaded it because I like the author, but it was well worth the time. Great book, Jocko, thank you.

From the very first line, it’s clear that this story is not going to be a HEA, but I kept hoping that there might be a chance for redemption. The characters are so likable and well written that I wanted that HEA. *spoiler* no HEA, but a satisfying and poignant conclusion.

Short and poignant
