The early spring snowball fight at the Pioneer Academy is a ritual going back to the school’s founding. Magic is not only allowed, but encouraged. People from all over come out to watch. Bets are placed, beverages are imbibed, and they are all looking for the same thing: a darn good snowball fight, and knowing which will be the last house standing.

The students from house Orozco were expected fail. Their house had come in dead last for the past 17 years. The best odds had them at 20 to one at not coming in last. Forget about winning, that wasn’t even considered.

Vivian, the sophomore head student of her house, just wanted to place. Her plan involved getting all her friends to work as a team, plus some cobbled together spells no teacher had reviewed yet. But to have a shot, they needed more magic.

Well, she’s from a family of bards. Why not try singing a spell during the competition to gather more energy; what could go wrong?

Terrance was brought forth by a demon to do one task. When it was done, he was set up to be killed. But instead of passing, his spirit is reforming, and he is asking the age-old question: who am I? Now, he just wants to remember and find a place for himself in the world. Maybe even get a soul. It felt a new Merlin emerging, and wants to wake up.

But the original Merlin is gone, and so is the key.

Living Song is the first audiobook in a new series which takes place six weeks after the Healer’s and Wandmaking series.

All the stories and all the books are very engaging and the voice acting was a perv. You got the emotion and the thoughts coming through much better than I was expecting.

Great voice acting
