A sexy silver alpha hero returns to his family’s lakeside cottage to find a single mother in his bed and her presence just might be the second chance he needs at love and family.

Archer McCaryn has been a mystery to his family. At 45, he isn’t certain who he is anymore. When he returns to the family’s lakeside cottage, he finds there is someone in his garage apartment. In fact, she’s in his bed, and he doesn’t have a problem with the beautiful, single mother staying there as long as she doesn’t want into his heart.

Jenna Davis is self-aware—she’s a teacher, a mother, and a widow. Now in her early forties, this once free-spirited woman considers herself a responsible adult and works hard to keep life put together. So when a college friend invites her and her two little girls to come for a visit, she’s ecstatic about a vacation. Only she’s placed in the garage apartment of her best friend’s older brother. Being attracted to him hadn’t been on her itinerary, but there’s no going back when hearts become reckless.

Welcome back to Lakeside Cottage.

This book was a fun twist and a nice way the bring one of the wayward flock back to the nest.

This is book three in the series and while they are about different couples there is an overarching story building between all of the books and I recommend reading/listening in order.

This is Anna’s brother and a college friend of hers. They make a nice pairing. He has never felt real love and is coming off a long undercover mission and she is a widowed single mom who has some triggers around guns. They help balance each other out and find their center.

This book was narrated by the ever talented Erin Mallon whom I just adore as a narrator, writer and person.

As well as Lance Greenfield who is always a pleaser to listen to

I’ve been watching this author for some time, but hadn’t had a chance to read them until now. And actually I got this on audio. Go figure that the male voice, Lance Greenfield is one of my favorite narrators.

Archer returns home after a long absence. He finds a stranger in his bed. He calls her “Locks” as she has dark hair.
Jenna is a widow with two young girls. When her friend invites her to visit, she jumps at the chance. Thus begins the “forced proximity” and fighting attraction. Archer has many “hard topics” he cannot discuss. He has been injured, and has many tattoos.

Archer is brilliant with the small girls. Little Rosie, 3 is accepting. Talia at 5 is skeptical.

All about family both by blood and chosen. Caring, trust, emotions, and following your heart. Phenomenal read/listen.

I really enjoyed this story and the audible version as well! It contained complex emotions and adorable children. I shed a few tears before it was all over and didn't mind at all.

This was my first book by author L.B. Dunbar and the story captured my attention right from the beginning. I really enjoyed how Archer and Jenna’s relationship developed throughout this book. I also loved Archer’s interactions with Jenna’s adorable little daughters and his love for them just melted my heart. Erin Mallon and Lance Greenfield were fantastic bringing the characters and story to life.

Great story & narration
