An epic mafia romance trilogy from NY Times Bestselling and Audie Award winning author, CD Reiss.

Some girls dream of marrying a prince, but I never imagined I’d be sold to a king.

Santino DiLustro.
The king.
The monster.
The keeper of secrets.

When he forced me to marry him, I cried for love I’d never know.

When he locked me away, I cried for the freedom I lost forever. Every other tear I’ve shed is for my soul, because I’m falling for the devil himself.

This is the first of three in a series.

I'm so sick of weak girl stories and dominate men, The voices made story worse. To much spoiled girl self talking like a crazy person, who does this author truly think will enjoy this. A great story should have equal male and female voice, this was weak. So sorry I wasted my create on this book. I hate cliff endings it a sign of bad writing not good writing. This is for men who want women to remain dumb, nieve, sad, no love in this story just irritation for wasting my time. Not recommending this book, and seriously question if I should ever read any thing from this author.

ok same old story, weak girl falls for controller

Since I only read this as an audiobook i don't know if the female character was meant to be crying or close to crying every other line. It was kind of annoying to be honest and made me almost drop this book. I was hoping that Violetta wouldn't be as weak as she was. I understand she was shocked and that she never thought this might happen to HER but still I expected her to be less "we're in America you can't do this" and it also didn't help that she denies the truth to herself about her own feelings and about her father's business.

it was okay...

It just didn’t do it for me.
I found the two main characters bland and uninteresting.
The male narrator is good however, he sounds far too old for the character’s voice and it brings a level of creepiness that the author obviously didn’t intend.. he was suppose to be 33, but sounded well into his 50’s
Also, I hate cliff hangers .. not that there isn’t an obvious conclusion to the big cliffhanger (there are two other books in the series).

Wasn’t for me

I like the first book so far but the constant whine cry quivering female voice is driving me insane OMG. Well now to the male narration. His voice is nice but keeping the accent going world have been nice. I think. Just my opinion

Ugh

How she made this book stretch for 10 hours on repetitive phrases and backwards behaviours, I have no clue. The heroine was a whining 8-year old that behaved like she wasn't raised in the traditional Italian customs. Yes, she is in America and was encouraged to get an education but she should have known better. To top it all off, she is 19-years old, give me a break.

(2.5) It was repetitive nonsense.
