No child should have to witness what twelve-year-old Cord Malone saw the day his parents were murdered and his home burned to the ground. Rescued from the blaze by his uncle Jesse, the terrible image still haunts him, as does the name of the man responsible: Levi Creed.

Jesse tried to track the man down, only to lose Creed's trail. But Cord never gives up; he just waits out his young years before setting out on a trail long gone cold to satisfy the need for revenge that still burns inside him.

Excellent western, lots of action and excitement. There were lots of humorous moments. I wish it were longer.

Cort Malone is on the hunt for the ones who killed his parents when he was young. This is my favorite storyline. (The Hunt). This book ranks up with the best. He picks up a couple friends along the way. That makes it better. Then they come back to help friends in a range war. That's the best part of the book. This is a great western to listen to. Lloyd James does an excellent job narrating this book. If my review is any help will you please click on the helpful link below. Thank you.

It kept me interested. I didn't have to coach the main character too much. The narrator was very good. I would like a sequel.
