Melanie Zook’s newlywed sister has moved to Pennsylvania but is desperately unhappy. Melanie yearns to be with her at Christmas time to help her settle into her new life. But money is short, and bus tickets don’t come cheap.

Melanie decides to host Christmas parties for the Englisch in their family’s big barn. It would offer the perfect location for a unique party. She enlists the help of her best friend and neighbor Amy Warner. Amy recruits her brother Noah to help them as well.

Melanie balks at this idea but remains silent. She has been secretly in love with Noah for years. He doesn’t think of her in that way, so every moment she spends with him is painful.

Melanie knows that any hope of being with Noah is a lost cause, so why won’t her stubborn heart admit the truth of it and move on?
