I'm taking spanish class in school and figured this would be interesting background listening as part of a project to read a spanish book. Turns out, it was actually really helpful. The book breaks down Mexican superstitions, traditions, and milagros in a way that’s easy to understand and not overly academic. I started recognizing cultural references and attitudes that pop up in my Spanish studies, which was a nice bonus. As a foreigner, I also appreciated the tips on avoiding awkward cultural moments as this is something i run into a lot when practicing. Overall, it taught me a lot without ever feeling like homework
