Loved it in print, but Audiobook is next level

Donna Grant has teased me for what seems like forever. I have wanted Manu's story. I have needed Manu's story. A Mountain Elf willing to help humans, to hide humans is a character I want to know more about. I got my wish in Mountain Fire and then some. It was worth the wait. Mountain Fire is a magnificent, suspenseful, magical experience.

Inej coming into his life makes things very interesting. She had been convinced he was behind the missing people. She had been convinced he was part of the Masters. She wants, no, needs him dead. She will risk her life for revenge.

She is one of those humans that elves look down upon. He tried to ignore her, but she needed saving and he is a hero always looking out for others as the leader in Navara. It maybe snowing in the mountains, but Manu and Inej heat up the pages. The tension exploded off the pages. The suspense was so intense. She was supposed to kill him, but found herself wanting him instead. There are others trying to kill him. The question is who and why. I feared venturing into the next chapter fearing what would happen.

The truths were mind blowing. The conspiracies run deep. The actions of others were beyond evil. I never expected to see Shaldorn put to use again. I wish it never had. What was done to those trying to protect the innocent turned my stomach. Tears flowed. Anger rose. I am in shock over how many emotions I experienced while reading Mountain Fire. I had my doubts about a happily ever after. The ending was well earned and my respect for Manu continues to grow.

I have ended my year with an amazing audiobook. Shane East brought a fantastic story to life. What a wonderful listen!!!!

Mountain Fire

I was so happy to see some of the Kings in this book. Plus anytime we get series crossovers I eat it up. Manu and Inej were great characters and it was great finally getting more information about the reclusive mountain elves. To be honest I am on the edge of my site waiting for Dain’s book. These books always answer a question or two from the last one, but leave me guessing about others and adding new questions and theories of what will be next.

Exceptional read, finished at 1:40 AM!!

Manu....leader of the mountain elves...a woman sent on a mission to kill him. Two hearts tangled up with secrets guarding lives. I really, really enjoyed this book. Great narrator, great story, had to stay up late & finish the book...it's that good!!!! Yeah!!!!

Noooo! I want more’

Omg! This series is totally engrossing. How will the allies beat the Masters? I was so happy Manu and his human but dang was that close. Betrayal, conspiracy, and lies makes it so hard to figure how who is working both sides and who isn’t. I want to know more about Juan,Dane and Reva!
