After a successful rescue mission in the empire, Eizo welcomes Helen to the family.

Life at the forge is peaceful once more, though living in the Black Forest comes with its own set of dangers. The family encounters another aggressive bear, and once they dispatch it, they find and adopt an orphaned wolf pup. With yet another mouth to feed, Eizo knows he must continue to test the limits of his cheats.

His next challenge? Working with a rare, stubborn metal called appoitakara. Using this metal, Eizo forges Helen a new pair of swords and then decides to design a katana for himself! These powerful weapons come in handy when Samya tells Eizo about a type of ore located in the dangerous heart of the forest. When the family ventures out to search for it, they meet a young woman who is a mercenary and stumble upon the ultimate wild beast—a dragon!

New faces, new monsters, and new metals are on the horizon for Forge Eizo, but is there any quiet life to be found?

This series has held my interest, and I've enjoyed the character development. Though it seems like a few of the early characters that formed the base of his inner circle almost get forgotten about. Either way a fun and enjoyable series.

Good series, and fun characters

Narrators, I'm not sure where the idea of making it sound like you have food in your mouth while talking came from, but it's a bad one. it is incredibly annoying and off putting. please stop it. No one wants to hear it in real life and it certainlyisnt necessary fornarrating . thank you.

Chewing sounds?

I'm enjoying the series despite the lack of romantic interludes that are in what I generally read.
my problem is compared to other series I follow the length is short and per book and part of each is a double dipping preview.

too short

needs more or different people speaking for the characters.. but still excellent... excited to start the next one.

I love this so much. I've been looking forward to having a credit for this book! I find the story so engaging yet calming. The story advances but for once I dont know whats going to happen. it dosnt follow the world altering back stabbing that you find in most Lit Novels

Did it again!
