Night and Day in Misery

This book started out scattered and choppy. I was worried it would remain in that haphazard realm of dream-like chaos. It levelled out in the way a person taking deep breaths brings their anxiety a little closer to quiet. This was such a good story. There is something about the way that Catriona Ward writes about grief that just gives it an added bit of weight. A heft that she is able to wield like a bat to bash you until you are flat on your back, wondering how exactly you got there. I highly recommend this story, and if you have never read The Last House on Needless Street, you should pick that one up as well.

Very good audio, made you feel emotions and it was a captivating story you couldn’t stop listening to.

Meh

It was not quite what I was looking. Engaging story but not horror. The narrator was excellent. I only finished it to hear how it ended. It was quite sad.

Catriona Ward made me cry again.

I read The Last House on Needless Street a little while ago, and was just bawling for the last 25%. Same here. I rarely cry reading or listening to books, but Catriona Ward's are 2/2 thus far.
