Eric is a physicist, an angel vivisectionist, and an architect of the future.

He's also an accidental time traveler, stuck in the past and trying to re-create his own future.

Now he's got to save the world for a better tomorrow, but not like everyone does, in general, every day. Oh, no. He has to make a better tomorrow that looks exactly the way he remembers it, or there may be no yesterday, no today, and no Eric!

There is a reason he hates time travel, and it has nothing to do with physics.

Nightlord: Penumbra is the eighth book in the Nightlord series.

To this point in the story, we've seen much of King Halar, Magician Halar, Engineer/Physicist Halar... we haven't seen as much of his manual laborer side. Having a future he needs to attain, a clear path forward, and nothing stopping him except a whole lot of back breaking labor, what else is he supposed to do?

Will he meet his goals? What will he have to pay or give up in order to do so? And what about Sasha? Read on for answers - and even more questions!

more of a good thing

Very solid storyline but this was the most filler that the author has ever put out in one go. And not to spoil anything but the death of a beloved character happens here specifically for the convenience of the author not needing to tie them into the storyline. It works due to the immortal nature of the protagonist but it was a cheap way to get around a narrative barrier.

It’s what you’ve been waiting for, but not all of it.

I am a sucker for movie references tucked into physics concepts surrounded my magic engulfed in hiccups in the time-space continuum with paranormal undertones of the blood-sucking variety orchestrated by gods (or is it demi-gods) being read to me in 1st person by one of the best narrators ever...even if starts with a huge gut-punch and ends on a gigantic cliffhanger. But that's just me.

mind blown [pqooow]

I love this series. However, not much happened during the book compared to previous books in the series. I agree with some of the other reviews has far as Eric's whoa is me attitude in the book. I will definitely be waiting on the book in the series. Shout out to Sean Runette you are one of my favorite narrators.

Felt like a lead up to the next book
