So when I land a job as the personal assistant to the Margot Montgomery—literary icon and professional cynic, I think I’ve hit the survival-job jackpot.

What I didn’t expect? Margot to be equal parts brilliant and impossible, buried under enough regret to fill a whole library. My job description: manage her calendar, keep her writing, and definitely don’t catch feelings.

Spoiler alert—I fail spectacularly.

Somewhere between the long days organizing her chaos, the unexpected moments of vulnerability, and the hurricane that traps us together in a motel room, I stop seeing Margot as a job and start seeing her. And once I do? There’s no unseeing her. Falling for someone like Margot Montgomery feels risky, maybe even reckless. Convincing her that we might have a story worth writing together? That could be impossible.

Then again, impossible stories are the ones worth writing.

They save each other

While virtual voice narration is not the greatest, at least this one is not as bad as most. Yes, pronunciation of words gets messed up, yes, sometimes gender gets mixed up, and and of course there is lack of emotion, and when virtual voice tries to put a motion into the character it just becomes a higher pitched voice. At least the voice on this one is not as annoying as most.

The two MCs save each other in different ways. Rowan is a struggling writer, who doesn't believe she will ever achieve her dream. Margot is a famous writer already, but because of her ex who is still her agent she has become a heavy drinker and was having trouble writing.

As for mature content, you will only find one scene towards the last hour of the book. But it is a very spicy scene that I will give a 🌶️🌶️🔥

Do not like virtual narration, no emotions, it would enhance the book if it was read by a real person.

The Story was Great ! Narration Yuck 🤮

I really enjoyed the story and the Characters. I appreciated the believable slow burn. I did NOT like the virtual narration.

Hate hate HATE the virtual voice

Will not listen to another AI read. Mispronouncing words, bad inflection, terrible timing, incorrect pronouns and even names.
