Lifelong friends and co-owners of a thriving business, but what if they could have more?

Omega, Harland, has been in love with Coop since they were kids. Working side by side with him in the vet clinic they co-own is sweet torture. If he had one hint that his feelings were returned, he’d be all over the alpha like there was no tomorrow. But confessing could mean losing his best friend, and it’s not a risk he’s willing to take. He’ll find a way to get over Coop…somehow.

Coop knows he’s just the man for his best friend…but if he’s wrong he’ll lose everything and he’d rather have Harland’s friendship than nothing at all. But when a new intern shows up and starts flirting with Harland, Coop can’t hide it anymore. Harland is his.

After decades of friendship, can they really take their relationship to the next level? Or will the shift be too much and leave them both lonelier than ever before?

A sweet love story, with some angst situations, a lot of hot scenes and puppies. I enjoyed a lot all this slow dance between Coop and Harland trying to evolved from friends to lovers and how the author managed all the “obstacles” for them to overcome. In addition Mr Esquire made a nice profesional performance making a wonderful job with the characters’ voice and attitudes. Loved it!

Friends to lovers who couldn’t be more clueless

I liked this story but at times found Harland and Coop a bit frustrating. How can they be so blind? How can they smell pheromones and other things about each other, but not the attraction? There was a roller coaster of emotions for the two best friends basically the entire story. Harland and Coop had great chemistry, just lacked communication.

Aleks Esquire did a decent job. He changes the voices for each character, though they weren’t always consistent.

~3.5 Stars~

I enjoyed this best friends to lovers story quite a bit for a few reasons, 1) we get views into how the veterinary clinic is run and I always enjoy a story that takes me inside the characters' business, 2) cute animals because of the setting, 3) from my years of reading good fanfiction, I enjoy the clueless, pining friends to lovers set up, and 4) I enjoy a story where an interested third party makes our MCs realize what they want from each other. Aleks Esquire was a new narrator for me and I enjoyed his narration very much. His timbre reminds me a bit of Michael Ferraiuolo, one of my favorite narrators. I have read both authors' contemporary books and their dragon shifter series and they can be counted on to give me characters I want to know more about, angst without darkness and an HEA.

Clueless friends to HEA lovers

This has got to be THE MOST INFURIATING STORY I've listened to in forever! How Harland Kale and Cooper Reid manage to get to their HEA with the way they pussyfooted around each other for so long is a miracle of epic proportions! Okay, maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration, but not by much. The writer spent the whole first half of the story making these two men dance around each other in increasingly exasperating circles before they managed to get out of their way long enough to decide to get physical, though still hiding the truth of their real feelings for the other for the same ridiculous reasons. best friends since childhood and business partners as adults, Harland and Coop seem to be unable to talk about the things that matter most in their personal lives. Coop goes so far as to parade around a series of men as unlike Harland as he can find in an effort to deny what his heart wants. That only makes him into a slut, a promiscuous player, and not especially admirable as a result. Why would Harland want a jerk like Coop, even though his motivation was understandable if misguided, especially when he's the one who takes them from stumbling around each other like idiots to admitting to some of the desires that they're both carrying around? And that neither of them can say what really drives them makes them cowards each time they avoid those come-to-Jesus moments.
I'm not a fan of the performance, either, if you can even call it that. The actor's narration is clumsy, full of awkward, inexplicable pauses, and no differentiation between the tones of the two MCs. His narration certainly did nothing to help me like this story any better or want to rate it higher than three stars.

Oh, for Pete's sake, guys!
