Women are not small men. Stop eating and training like one.

Because most nutrition products and training plans are designed for men, it's no wonder that so many female athletes struggle to reach their full potential. ROAR is a comprehensive, physiology-based nutrition and training guide specifically designed for active women. This book teaches you everything you need to know to adapt your nutrition, hydration, and training to your unique physiology so you can work with, rather than against, your female physiology. Exercise physiologist and nutrition scientist Stacy T. Sims, PhD, shows you how to be your own biohacker to achieve optimum athletic performance.

Complete with goal-specific meal plans and nutrient-packed recipes to optimize body composition, ROAR contains personalized nutrition advice for all stages of training and recovery. Customizable meal plans and strengthening exercises come together in a comprehensive plan to build a rock-solid fitness foundation as you build lean muscle where you need it most, strengthen bone, and boost power and endurance. No matter what your sport is - running, cycling, field sports, triathlons - this book will empower you with the nutrition and fitness knowledge you need to be in the healthiest, fittest, strongest shape of your life.

Essential knowledge about sports nutrition and hydration for women's physiology. I've been cycling long distance for a while now, and had no idea about the proper nutrition needed to improve my performance. One thing I wanted to mention, however, is that the author does not recommend counting calories, but every athlete out there knows that it is difficult to talk about macronutrients without talking about caloric intake. There is a difference between being obsessed with calories and weight loss, and using it to gauge proper ratios of macros. Still, a great book that I will be using as my nutrition guide from now on!

Every active woman should read this book.

I am training to ride endurance with my horse, we focus a lot on equine nutrition but seem to ignore human. so I wanted to change that. I don't want to be the weak link in my partnership. Learned so much of what to do and not do. I have already recommended the book to other riders. We have rides in the heat, cold, altitude, we ride for up to 15 hours. learning how to fuel and feed my body before, during and after is invaluable.

So much great and actionable information.

Well the book was amazing and I love the content I couldn’t stand the narrator. In fact I thought it was a computer through most of the book. Intonations and inflections and emphasis we’re all wrong throughout the book and it was very strange to listen to. That said it was still an excellent book

Excellent content! Narrator was poor!

As an endurance athlete, I loved all the insights on proper nutrition that works for women's bodies, dos and don'ts for refueling. I'm not against fasting. When there are times my stomach can't take food when the blood is flowing to other parts of the body during a race, I unintentionally end up doing a mini fast. That has worked on for me so far but this might be dangerous for others. Everybody is different.

It's worth taking notes on nutrition, refueling, resting and biomarkers for testing
