New York Times best-selling author Dr. Sara Gottfried shares a new, female-friendly Keto diet that addresses women’s unique hormonal needs, so readers can shed pounds and maintain the loss more easily.

Most diet plans were created by men for men, but women’s bodies don’t work the same way. Popular programs can actually make it harder for women to lose weight, because they can wreak havoc on a woman’s complex and delicate hormonal system. New York Times best-selling author Dr. Sara Gottfried has spent her career demystifying hormones and helping patients improve their health more broadly with personalized medicine. In Women, Food, and Hormones, Dr. Gottfried presents a groundbreaking new plan that helps women balance their hormones so they can lose excess weight and feel better. Featuring hormonal detoxification combined with a ketogenic diet that is tailor-made for women, coupled with an intermittent fasting protocol and over 50 delicious and filling recipes, this book shares a fat-burning solution that gets results.

I found the information to be highly repetitive throughout the book. Like a new piece of information would be presented, and then something within that information previously stated was mentioned again. Made getting to the actual “Gottfried protocol” pretty unbearable.

I was waiting for more details into hormones, instead there is a lot of repetition of the same paragraph/ideas as she is trying to convince you too much, or maybe to fill up more pages.
I bought the book after listening her on a podcast and I realized that I learned more in the podcast.
Anyway, if you are at the beginning of your journey in this topic I think it’s a a good book to start with.

so this is a really deep, heavy read. there are so many facts and stuff that it's hard to absorb any more information after 1 chapter. I learned some things. but most of it wasn't really that useful, because not everyone can go to her clinic. which seems like the only place where you could get any help out of the whole deal. maybe my brain just didn't comprehend all the mathematics of it. but it was so technical that it really didn't help me much.

her detailed deep study of hormones

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the information provided in this book. I certainly believe I can apply some of this in my everyday life. However, I can't with the extreme restriction, calculations of ratios and overall unrealistic approach to this plan. I would much rather do a round of whole30 as a hormonal reset because it is less restrictive and mathematical.
