""Vivid and ethereal."" —New York Times

Radioactive is quite unlike any book I have ever read—part history, part love story, part art work and all parts sheer imaginative genius.”
— Malcolm Gladwell

Radioactive is the mesmerizing, landmark biography of Marie Curie, by acclaimed author and artist Lauren Redniss. Through brilliant storytelling, Redniss walks us through Curie’s life, which was marked by extraordinary scientific discovery and dramatic personal trauma—from her complex working and romantic relationship with Pierre Curie, to their discovery of two new scientific elements, to Pierre’s tragic death, to Marie’s two Nobel Prizes. A haunting and wondrous portrait of one of history's most intriguing figures, Radioactive is a stunning biography and a true work of art. Whether young or old, scientific novice or expert, no one will fail to be moved by Lauren Redniss’s eerie and wondrous evocation of one of history’s most intriguing figures.

I read and listened to the audiobook because it was on my kids summer reading list. It is a hard read and not very interesting. I guess it is interesting at best maybe even informative but good ? No not good or entertaining. Definitely not worth making a movie about , but maybe good acting could make up for an unfortunate story …

I especially enjoyed the book as I had a relative who worked in this field and worked on the Atomic Bomb used in W.W.II.

Very interesting

Marginally better than the movie of the same name. Anecdotal stories but short on details. Clearly a story and not a biography. I didn't hate it but cannot recommend it.

Two hours and not much substance

Thisnwas for book club. I wasted my money on the audio-version. No accompanying graphic PDF is included to include the pictures.

Apparantly, the paper version is a graphic book.

Just okay for me. Pretty brief, but not bad if that is what you're looking for.
