As a therapist I found a lot of great practical advice in this book which I intend to put into action helping my clients work towards healing from sexual trauma. The book does a great job of exploring the various symptoms resulting from trauma including anxiety around sex, shame, attachment issues, body issues, self esteem, etc. It also provides a number of actual activities designed to help survivors (and thrivers) process the events that happened, acknowledge the impact it has had on both their personal and relational development and satisfaction, and to help individuals - and by extension, couples - move past trauma to more fulfilling and enjoyable sex-lives.

This book is a rare gem for me. So many books are geared only towards women who've survived sexual abuse or trauma. This one was much more inclusive and felt like a pep talk from a kind friend. I listened to the whole thing in one day and plan to go through it again and again. Already I feel more healed and clear on what I need to do to get my life back on track. I hope more people find this book and see this review because it is a great companion on your healing journey and I hope you are encouraged to get it!
