Loved to hear the author has walked close to the same timeline to plan retirement as myself. Practical, bite sized information that was practical, such as creating a vision statement. Strategies to minimize estate taxes figures are good takeaways. Small steps turn into the biggest step of your life--such a motivating motto.

Robin Pike did a great job writing this book. This is definitely NOT AI generated like so many I've seen. The author presents retirement planning through the eyes of her husband and herself, sharing mistakes they have made and valuable lessons learned along their journey toward retirement. She has done her research well and includes all the basics plus a number of concepts many people would not think about, such as the importance of building community. I highly recommend this book, whether you are just beginning to think about planning, or are, like myself, already beginning retirement. I discovered clarification of several points that I was uncertain about, as well as some new information I didn't even know I needed.

This is the book I needed 30 years ago! Must read. . .

As someone approaching retirement, I found most advice either too complex or outdated. This book broke everything down in a clear, no-stress way—from managing income to preparing for surprise expenses. I feel so much more confident about my future now. It even helped me catch a few things I hadn’t considered. If you're over 50 and want real peace of mind about retirement, this book is absolutely worth reading.

I've not thought about retirement much and the idea of reading this book made me nervous because then I'd have to start thinking about a plan. I'm so glad I did! Such a wealth of information and things to think about that I would never have thought were part of the plan. I'm actually getting excited to make a plan and start having fun!

I enjoyed learning about the carefully crafted retirement plan Robin and her husband had developed, a stark contrast to our own more haphazard attempts. Their plan, impressive in its scope and meticulous detail, promised success. It's a relief to have an estate plan secured, featuring an annuity for a steady income stream, and we're systematically reducing our debt load in preparation for my husband's retirement. Because my self-employment isn't bringing in much money yet, I've begun receiving my Social Security payments. The Veteran’s Administration offers a safety net of healthcare services should we require them. I loved how her faith infused her goals, giving them a deeper meaning and purpose that resonated with me.
