HOW TO RETIRE IN A VOLATILE MARKET

Whether you have ten or thirty years until retirement, Josh Jalinski shows you how to maximize your retirement saving and spending plan, while still having something to leave behind for your family, friends, and favorite causes.

Looking at your 401k in a volatile market can lead to panic and poor financial decisions. Even if you have already made some decisions you regret, or you waited until forty-five to think about retirement, there are steps you can take today that will help you reach your financial retirement goals.

Josh Jalinski, host of the popular Financial Quarterback™ radio show, offers his SWAN (sleep-well-at-night) retirement that works for people in all stages of their careers. This proven system for secure retirement planning lets you enjoy your money, and teaches you:

  • To challenge fifty years of conventional retirement planning with fresh strategies tailored to today’s volatile economic climate.
  • Tax-saving strategies that maximize the amount of money you have available to spend on experiences, travel, and expenses.
  • Understanding how to identify the right investment portfolio mix for your individual circumstances.
  • How saving cash and different life insurance options help you weather volatility and ensure you can pass wealth on to family members.

The truth is, a 401(k) is not enough for most retirees. Its time create a new paradigm, one that will stand up against market volatility and be there when it’s time to enjoy the years you worked to earn.

Critic reviews

'It is not every day that a book comes along that changes the way you think about investing and saving. Investing isn't just about accumulating. Investing should let you 'spend 'til the end.' Josh's book is revolutionary. He offers valuable and important tax-smart guidance that will help you enjoy your money in your working and retirement years. Go read this book now!' --Dr. Larry Kotlikoff, world renowned economist and New York Times bestselling author
'Josh is a great resource and expert in assembling thoughtful investment strategies for millennials to baby boomers. His against-the-grain and fresh insight offers traditional investors an opportunity to live a financially fulfilling life while setting themselves up for a secure and enjoyable retirement.' --Harry S. Dent, bestselling author and renowned economic forecaster
AUDIOFILE MAGAZINE: 'After Gabe Wicks's strong voice delivers the brief forward, Public Radio storyteller and voice pro Jakob Lewis presents this accessible lesson with beguiling charm and comfortable authority. He's a good fit to perform Josh Jalinski's seductive writing, which sets up his advice as a contrarian alternative to the guidance people usually hear about retirement planning. As host of a financial radio program, the author writes with a deep well of experience and knowledge. He's good at distilling the logic of finance into prescriptions that are instantly clear. With strategies that are conservative and not intimidating (life insurance, annuities, tax avoidance), he's sensitive to the real-life circumstances and tolerances that retired people have. The result is a hands-on personal finance guide that doesn't overlook the need for people to enjoy their lives while they prepare for the future.'

This book will inform and inspire you because it will explain how it is possible to accumulate wealth; then spend it down during retirement so you can use your money as a tool to bless others while enjoying your money. I spent my life accumulating money but I was lost when it came down using my money without worrying about running out.

The only thing I knew was to scrimp in order to build it up and do my best to make it last. Josh can show you how to give yourself permission to spend freely - no need for self-induced or voluntary poverty. And, he discusses options for generating up to ten paychecks using various sources during your retirement.

Often it has been said that there is more to managing than making. While it is true you must make it before you can manage it ... it is also true that what you have made can be wasted away if you do not manage your wealth in the final years. Josh will illustrate how your money can be used as a tool to do good and enjoy life.

He will also name many things that you should require from your financial advisor. This is the kind of book that help you identify the loose ends in your plans. Get the book. You will not regret having a copy.

Touches on some great topics.....but doesn't dive deep enough. I do have questions for my current adviser thanks to Josh.

Great book but josh needs to do the audio on the next one. Without his voice it's just not the same.

Annuities are a well known financial tool and _may_ be a useful tool in the retirement bag. This books makes it seem that they are the BFG and only tool needed. Could not finish listening to this sales pitch and will exchange the title if I can.

Lot’s of noise, not much signal.

some of the strategy is just fine if you're healthy enough to get life insurance if you're not the whole thing somewhat falls apart at least he touches on the sequence of returns on annuities, which is important. I wanted to return it, but audible would not let me.

Somewhat of a waste of time and Old saw about Whole life insurance
