Heartbreaking but a necessary read in today’s world

Rising Up opened my eyes to real hardships children are experiencing in the world. I’ve always heard about it in the news but listening to a real person tell their story feels much different. It holds so much more power. We have to do better to protect our children and hold those accountable that hurt them. I continue to be shocked by people in churches that hold authority and stay silent when they see or hear of abuse. I hope I live to see the day where more people that cover up abuse are also punished. I think those who have suffered abuse will relate to this story and know that they are not alone and those who haven’t will have more empathy and understanding for those that experience such hardship.

Her Strength is Great!

I liked how it was spoken to the reader in straight forward reality of life put in words!

I just want to hug you. I am so happy you gave a loving husband, the person you deserve to have by your side.

Good story… But please stop the computerized voice

I am about halfway through the story. Overall, it seems well written, obviously, the contents is somewhat disturbing. However, anyone who reads it will definitely know that as they start this book.

I am struggling to finish it with the voice, however.. It takes away from the storyline, as a computerized voice does not know how words need to be said in spaced in a situation like this.
