What do you do when you’re in love with your roommate?

Pushing 30, once again single, is not how Lottie Evans expected to attend her brother Nick’s wedding. Craig Barnes is a serial dater with a checkered past. Lottie has the biggest crush on her roommate. Craig is in love with his friend’s younger sister. A mix-up with hotel reservations pushes the pair together for a long weekend, and sparks are not the only thing flying.

An obsessive ex, a flirtatious mother, and a grandmother with no filter. The pair soon finds out that Nick is the least of their worries.

Throughly entertaining and laugh out loud funny, Screw It! is a truly original and completely delightful romantic comedy. There’s also some intrigue and a bit of angst to nicely balance the laughs, and give a realistic feel to the story. The writing is fantastic, the characters unique and varied! The good, the bad and the annoying (intentionally so, and very necessary to the plot) are brilliantly represented! The dialogue is beyond witty and the banter between the characters is fabulous, all making for such a fun listen! I would be remiss if I didn’t make mention of the astounding narration that brought every one of these wonderful characters to life. Only one word fits. Magical! I am still laughing and still smiling. Five fabulous stars! This one is a winner!

Uproariously funny writing combined with magical narration, I loved it!

This author achieved the difficult feat of being funny, often hilarious, but not silly. So often authors just achieve silliness or juvenile levels of foolishness. But this author wrote a funny, adult book. I generally don't like stories about a woman liking a brother's best friend; it's been done and overdone. This author managed to give a bit of a fresh take. This was in part because the characters were older (guy is in early 30s) and the focus wasn't on the 2 male best friends but largely on the hero and heroine instead.
Sometimes the sex was somewhat explicit but not vulgar. Though pu**y is said once in relation to cunnilingus. So be aware if that's not your thing. Generally, adult language is used throughout the book and not in a gratuitous fashion. But some would object to it. So go in knowing that. The sex isn't constant throughout the book and sometimes just alluded to. But it's more than 1x, definitely.
The side characters added to the story. That included close friends, a mother, grandmother, and undesirable characters too. There's a bit of a mystery in the story that helps add some conflict in the love match. Thankfully there are no ongoing misunderstandings that are the basis of the story.
The only negative was that the narrator wasn't always able to clearly make distinctions between several characters, including the 2 main characters; so often it wasn't always clear, at the start, which character was speaking. Eventually it would become clear. Still, it didn't detract meaningfully from my immense enjoyment of this production.

Hilarious, Sexy
