From #1 New York Times bestselling “consistently entertaining writer” (USA Today) Nora Roberts, Search for Love takes a woman on a journey to meet a family she never knew she had—and a future she never imagined.

When Serenity Smith’s parents passed away, she presumed she lost her only family. Then she receives word from a relative far from Washington D.C.—her grandmother, living on an estate in the beautiful Brittany region of France. But the hard-hearted Comtesse de Kergallen doesn’t welcome Serenity with open arms. Neither does her arrogant yet undeniably charming cousin Christophe. Both harbor resentments against the Smiths, believing they damaged the family’s aristocratic reputation. As Serenity sets out to clear her parents’ names, tension mounts between her and Christophe—escalating from adversarial to passionate…

I prefer other Nora books I've read... this was a little too PG for me.

short and not spicy

3.5 Stars ⭐️ Search for Love was written in 1982, and it feels like it. When Serenity lost her parents, she received a letter from her long lost grandmother in France. She first met Christophe when he picked her up from the airport. He was cold and pompous. They butted heads a lot, and he was the typical forceful hero of this time period. They fell in love despite not liking each other. The end. However, I was not excepting to be as entertained as I was. Also, while Search for Love wasn’t in Nora’s voice (and I didn’t think it would be as it was written within her first year of her writing career), there were aspects of who she evolved to become as a writer there.

Entertaining

Sorry Nora, not for me on this one. This was the first one sofar that I didn't care for. Christian was overbearing, controlling and just not my idea of a catch. He needed to loosen up. All the other characters I liked just fine.

Not for me
