Dr. Natalie Jenner's life is going exactly according to plan. She has the house, the family, and the perfect job. On paper, she has it all. But when she meets Charlie Thompson, the charming young paramedic, that perfect life is shaken inside out. Natalie quickly realizes what she's feeling for Charlie can't be explained by anything other than love. Natalie wages a war not only with death in the emergency room, but also with herself, as she navigates the consequences of a life with Charlie. The more the two battle to save lives together, the more in love they fall. But will Natalie be brave enough to face losing the security of the life she's always known? Or will she face losing Charlie instead?

Story was meh but very accurate. The main character was self- serving, condescending and cruel. I had no empathy for her.

Narrator made everyone sound like a child.

Annoyingly accurate.

It was a good story. A little cheesy at times but overall pretty good. Nice ending.

Good story.

Main character, Dr Natalie Jenner, almost totally selfish except towards her special needs daughter. Medic Charlie Thompson is like-able but immature and much to willingly to pursue a relationship with a married woman. Narration was much to “sweet” for my taste making even the butch woman seem girly. Love the author’s other books.

Unsympathetic Characters

I need to start paying attention to the narrator before I buy an audio book, because I'll never buy another read by this one. A medium rating was the best I could give the story because the narrator irritated me so much, I couldn't finish listening to judge whether the story is good or not. Maybe I'll revise the rating after I read the printed version for myself. This narrator made me feel like a third grader at story time. Her sing-song tone never changed, even when the two main characters were dealing with the death of a patient. To make matters worse, she gave one character a girlish voice when the character described was anything but childish.

Hate this narrator

Going to ask for my first refund ever. There's no way I can listen to this. Giving the book three stars because I can't submit without something but I didn't listen to it so can't go below the average mark

Can't do it. Can...not...listen to this
