Lord Nicholas Kendall is tired of living in his brother Christian’s shadow. He’s the first-born and the one who will inherit the dukedom one day. He’s not jealous, just bored. Christian is welcome to that particular responsibility. Nicholas has more adventurous aspirations. He’s heard the rumors, even though his mother and father have done their best to squash them. Time travel is possible and his mother is proof of that. He intends to find a way to the future and explore all it has to offer.

Peyton Drake is recovering from a long illness that she thought she’d eventually die from. Thanks to her long lost sister, and the miracle of modern medicine she is in remission. She is enjoying her new lease on life and intends to enjoy every second of it. Anything is possible now that she has a future she can plan for. The question is: What should she do with her life?

Neither Nicholas nor Peyton expected they’d find each other. They each have secrets that they don’t want to share with the world. Love blooms in the most unlikely places and sometimes it takes traveling a couple centuries into the future to find it.

I enjoyed this book immensely. I've read or listened to several books in this Linked Across Time series, and for the most part, I enjoy them thoroughly. I loved this particular twist, where a somewhat bored second son of a duke decides he's going to attempt to time travel through the library mirror that others in their family across the generations have used to move through time. He's taken to modern-day England and is so thrilled to be there. His excitement and occasional befuddlement are so enjoyable. The fish-out-of-water element of an early Victorian man coming to contemporary times is an utter delight. He was quite a rogue back in his time, and of course, your character does not inherently change if you time-travel 200 years. The heroine has been through a rough time, having survived cancer because her sister traveled back from the Regency era to save her. (Yes, LOL, it can get a little complicated in this series!) She's lived under the shadow of fear of the leukemia coming back and hasn't quite been living her best life. The hero shakes up her tightly controlled, staid life. She fights the attraction, of course, but when she gives in, it is so much fun! I loved those little moments where he's, say, frightened of the car or doesn't quite know how to pick out his own clothes because, of course, as a duke's son, that was never his concern! The narrator did a decent job. However, she didn't adequately edit the voice files. In multiple places, she clearly repeated a word or phrase to say it better but didn't delete the one she didn't want to use. It's a fault I've been seeing lately in audiobooks, and it's certainly something that both narrators and authors should make sure doesn't happen because it certainly pulls you out of a story when it does. Despite this, this was immensely enjoyable. Highly recommended.

So, Much Time Travel Fun!!

I enjoyed this time travel story of Lord Nicholas Kendall and Peyton Drake. Nicholas is tired of living in his twin brother's shadow. He not jealous but is bored. He would like some adventure in his future. He has heard a rumors that  time traveling might be  possible. His mother has said a few things that he has questions about.

Peyton Drake is recovering for a long term illness that she thought could eventually kill her. But thanks to modern medicine her illness is in remission. She not sure what she should do with her life now. So when a man falls through a mirror into her. She not sure what to do with him.

Nicholas and Peyton story is a sweet nice time traveling type of story. It had me laughing a lot. Nicola F. Delgado did a wonderful job with the narration. She had a lovely voice.

I received a complimentary audio copy from the author. This is my honest unbiased opinion.

The twelfth book in the Linked Across Time series a well written story that had me smiling as I read and listened to. I enjoyed seeing Lord Nicholas Kendall as he tries to come to grips with the the twenty first century he has time travelled to. Peyton Drake is the woman he meets and falls in love with. The things that had me smiling was his first car ride and the elevator. I enjoyed listening to Nicola F. Delgado narrate this story.
