“You have left safe zone, Hel. All beginner protections are now disabled. Welcome to The Game.”

The heliopause protected Earth, keeping us safe from a violent galaxy.

Or so we thought.

Who knew it did more than keep us guarded? Who understood that its integrity was the only thing holding our beginner’s protection in place? If we'd known—if we’d understood, we’d have waited longer, a hell of a lot longer to pierce its veil.

But when the USM Arrowheart passed through it and left our solar system, that protection ended and all hell broke loose.

The aliens who'd been watching, waiting, and biding their time were ready. We weren’t.

But there was hope. The first human to leave the universe will forever become the Sentinel of Earth.

The Sentinel was gifted everything needed to defend Earth, to understand The Game, and to provide Earth’s population with a fighting chance. Only one question remained: Will he be able to adapt while protecting Earth or will the vast changes be insurmountable?

this was one of the best sci-fi litRPGs I have ever listened to. The premise of temporary protection is interesting, and I really like the partially unhinged MC. The duet narration is amazing and really brings the story to life. all in all, I really enjoyed it!

Amazing

I enjoyed this book and the story. I won't lie, the story jumps from many characters to many others and sometimes very quickly. It's kind of distracting and you really have to pay attention to what story your listening to. That being said the struggles the characters go through, the character development and story progression are good. The characters are all suffering from mental issues due to the world and life as they know it suddenly and abruptly changing for a world they truly weren't prepared for. I think the story will be good for fans of the genre that give it a chance and pay attention to what's happening throughout the story.

Good Book With An Interesting Story

I received a free copy, in order to give my honest opinion. I will try to minimize spoilers. At first you may be put-off with the behavior of the many characters in the book, especially the MC with his one-tracked mind. Until you put into perspective that they have lost their minds and went off their rockers. It was interesting to see the perspective of characters who have gone off the deep end. K.C. Pierce did a great job in emulating characters with sociopathic and psychotic tendencies.

Worth a shot

At times I found the story to be just to weird that I was about to stop and just get a refund. it cumms rogether in the end. Funny but intriguing.

Definitely for Adults!

This is the first book I've listened to from this author, and I was pretty impressed.
I'm not sure how many books this author has published, but I would guess this book book isn't more than the author's 4th or 5th, if not the 1st or 2nd. It's not that the book is bad, it just seems like there are "things" in the book that an author with more than 10 books in their portfolio wouldn't have kept in or would have smoothed out.
That being said, this is a great story and quite original as far as my limited experience would suggest.
This is a great premise that once a species leaves their solar system, then they are kicked out of their tutorial stage and now in the real game of the universe. And the MC, Beckett, sneaking up in a forward compartment of the ship so that he would actually be the 1st to exit the system, instead of the captain of the ship is just a great choice for the author to make.
It also seems like the author was doing a lot of soul searching with the way the story went and the life choices of the characters.
I was gifted this book with the expectation of an honest review.
I really do like this book, and the author and narrators did a great job.
6 stars out of 5.

Great 1st, for me, book.
