In his debut poetry collection Sex and Oatmeal, Eric Guilmette explores the complexities of love, identity, and what it means to feel deeply in a world that often asks us not to.

This is a book that lives in contrast: the warm, honeyed rush of intimacy and the thick, cold quiet that follows... the ache of absence, the weight of longing, the emotional staleness of something once comforting, now unfinished and forgotten.

With a voice that's emotionally honest, refreshingly vulnerable, and unmistakably his own, Eric invites his listeners into an intimate space... one shaped by passion, reflection, and unflinching truth.

Through the lens of a man learning what it means to come of age not once, but again and again, these poems capture the electricity of new love, the beauty of intimacy, and the bittersweet ache of loss. His words resonate with raw sincerity that feels deeply personal yet relatable, grounded in his signature "Eric-isms" that lend each piece a distinct, lived-in texture.

Sex and Oatmeal doesn't shy away from discomfort. It lingers in the awkward, the aching, and the tender, offering listeners a mirror to see their own messiness. Whether it's the dizzying rush of falling in love or the quiet wreckage of heartbreak, Eric meets each moment with care and courage.

This collection is an offering for anyone who has ever felt too much, wanted too deeply, or dared to hope again. More than poetry, it's a raw, human experience, stirred gently into verse... served warm or cold.

Sex & Oatmeal by Eric Guilmette just wrecked me in the best way. This isn’t just an audiobook you listen to; you feel it. It’s like sitting across from someone who has lived, loved, lost, healed, and is still figuring it out… and they’re letting you inside the parts most people hide Eric’s voice alone? Soft. Raw. Steady. It hits differently when the person who wrote the words is the one speaking them. The delivery is vulnerable without trying too hard, powerful without being loud. It’s intimate in the way real healing is quiet, slow, and real. The poetry is this mix of heartbreak and hope, like turning pages in your own journal. It reminds you that love can bruise, but it can also rebuild. That growth can be messy, but it’s still growth. And that softness isn’t weakness its proof you survived. If you’ve ever loved deeply…If you’ve ever lost yourself and found your way back…If you’re in a season of becoming…This audiobook is going to stay with you.10/10. Highly recommend.Listen with your heart open. And maybe a blanket, a candle, and just a moment to breathe.

Everything was beautiful and a wonderful, even if sometimes heartbreaking, look into his life. It really is true that all humans experience so many things in our lives that everyone else experiences, even though the smaller details of each varies. We all have love, loneliness, heartbreak, happiness, sadness, etc. The "Cold Oatmeal" made me sad to know the heartbreak he's had in his life. The entire book speaks to me and the entire time it was bringing my own memories to mind. The advice on life is great and important to think about and apply to our lives.

Eric reading his own poems is wonderful. It makes it even more intimate to hear him tell us with his own voice these glimpses into his life. I was saddened by his heartbreak and happy about his happiness. He's being very vulnerable with all of us fans and others who know him. His reading cadence and knowledge of how poems are read is perfect. You can hear the emotion in each word he speaks. Him having a very soothing voice helps as well.

I'm so glad I read this and I belive even if you have no clue who he is, this book of poems will speak to you deeply. I hope you will listen/ read this book whether you know who he is or not. It will speak to all of you and your lives, your memories as well as great advice for your future.

Beautiful Look into His Life & Speaks to My Life.
