A missing husband, a sister acting sus, and a tantalizing tangle of lies—well, there goes Remi’s plan for a chill Halloween.

Remi and her sisters, Maeve and Eliana, have a knack for stumbling into murder mysteries. And after a killer family camping trip last year, they’re back together for a Halloween they’ll never forget.

Remi is living her best life in Seattle until Eliana’s husband, Chad, who refused to sign their divorce papers, disappears on the spookiest night of the year. Eliana swears she has no idea where he is, though her obvious motive and weird behavior don’t really weigh in her favor. Nor does the severed finger they find in his house…

Torn between loyalty to her sister and mounting suspicions she can’t ignore, Remi and her boyfriend, Leo, embark on a manhunt to find Chad—or the rest of him. But the further Remi digs into Chad’s movements on Halloween, the more trouble she finds. With a ruthless detective on their tail, threatening texts, a mysterious flash drive, and dubious legal advice from a kooky aunt, the Finch sisters are in over their head. But Remi is determined to prove her sister’s innocent, even though the bloody evidence points right at her.

Critic reviews

“The Finch sisters are drawn into another mystery, with Soneela Nankani returning as narrator.… Nankani portrays tension and emotions through her nuanced performance, maintaining suspense even though this story's pace is slower than the first installment's. Nankani whines plaintively and uses harsh tones as the sisters argue. She also speeds up her speech and increases her volume to reflect the sisters' anxiety when they receive threatening messages and draws out her voice in exasperation when the trio face obstacles.”AudioFile Magazine

“With a fast-moving plot, plenty of humor, and a surprisingly sweet attunement to the ups and downs of sisterhood, this breezy mystery goes down smooth.”Publishers Weekly

Although it is a thriller also it touches on all things “sisters”. I had a few chuckles as well as I totally understand moments.

This was better than the first book to the series. There was more action, more character building, and a better storyline. I liked all the characters even Chad who could be very annoying. I would say this is a cozy read with added action and entertainment than a thriller. I do recommend this series!

Great entertainment

I liked it as it was easy listening, the voice changes were done well. I really really wanted them to contact authorities so it was a little unbelievable but it's fiction so it's fine.

Humorous
