MISS MICHELLE ELLINGTON despises the founder of a competing school for young ladies. Already, he has lured away two teachers and seems intent on wreaking havoc upon her school, all while the headmistress is away. She’s never met the man, but the few missives they’ve exchanged have told her exactly the sort of person he is—an underhanded cad.

Sir Miles Wentworth made a promise to his dying father and is driven to succeed. He'd be well on his way if only he could entice the reputable Miss Ellington to leave her current position and work for him. Unfortunately, her frigid reply makes it clear that his school would be the last place she’d ever seek employment.

When the pair encounter each other as strangers one evening, they form an instant connection. Smitten by the mysterious woman, Sir Miles sets out to romance her. What he soon discovers, however, is that the woman he is falling more in love with every day is the same woman who would like to make mincemeat of him.

The personalities of the two main characters as opposite to one another as they are, also make for the best stories! You will not be disappointed or bored. This is quickly paced and hilarious one moment, tears the next. You end the book feeling uplifted!

The Characters with the most character!

I loved this story! If just stumbling upon it I would listen to the book five kisses first; although this book can stand on its own some of the characters are first introduced in that story. Both of the books are funny and very enjoyable to listen to. I have listened to so many regency type romance books as they are one of my favorite genres and I would listen to this again.

Very enjoyable

I enjoyed this story (as well as the first one, “Five Kisses”) quite a bit. There is a lot of witty banter between Chelle and Miles and their relationship is downright adorable. I found myself chuckling many times throughout. I thought the building tension of the situation was played out well and resolved in a satisfying way. However, as with the first book, the ending — particularly the epilogue — was lackluster and disappointing. I like to learn about the future of the relationship I just invested so much of my time into. When the epilogue for “Five Kisses” disappointed, I shrugged it off because there was another book. But this one included little of Sarah and Ian….which would be fine IF their epilogue had satisfied. A third book is coming later in the year but I have little hope it will be any different.

Anyhow, that’s a small personal gripe. I still enjoyed the book a great deal and would highly recommend it.

Witty & Charming
