In the Regency era, surface appearances of politeness and civility often conceal more intense and hostile activity. More than one wealthy or noble family of seemingly sterling reputation is torn apart and sometimes all but exterminated by savage intra-family feuds.

That situation unexpectedly confronts Fitzwilliam Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet in Skirmish and Scandal when Darcy’s interest in Elizabeth as a future mistress of Pemberley becomes known to Lady Catherine de Bourgh and her noble Matlock relations. Determined to prevent an affront to the reputation of their aristocratic clan, the most prominent members of the family gather with Lady Catherine to confront Darcy and force him to choose a more suitable wife. The resulting conflict and its aftermath involve furious arguments, abduction, pursuit, and personal clashes that narrowly avert meetings on the field of honor.

How can such emotionally intense and seemingly insurmountable personal conflicts between the couple result in an amorous resolution?

A story of trials around every corner for Fitzwilliam Darcy’s undying love for Elizabeth. This variation definitely keeps you interested every step of the way!

Such a delight

Great read. This is a shortish but witty story. I have read it before but now enjoyed listening to it. Great narrating. Great Jaff

Fantastic interesting

I total loved this narrator. Loved the different voices in which she does during the reading of the story. Great storyline to listen to

Family interference

This has family interference all throughout this story. It is a quick read/listen and there were some parts that I would have loved to be expanded upon. Stevie Zimmerman as always did a wonderful job bringing this story to life.

Whirlwind Romance

Wow, Lizzy goes from cool to hot in this one. Thanks to unlikely allies Lizzy finds out what is really In Darcy’s heart early in the story.

The rest of the story revolves around family issues on both sides trying to prevent their marriage. But, in the meantime, Lizzy shows her passionate nature responds very well to Darcy. It’s handled by innuendo rather than detailed description, so still clean reading ( but just barely 😉)

Stevie Zimmerman is my all time favorite voice artist, especially in JAFF, and she again shines. Yeah, I’m a fan girl of Ms. Zimmerman, but if you haven’t heard her, you are missing out. Each voice is distinct, male and female voice sound gender appropriate, and she is still able to provide the emotion needed to bring the story to life.
