The towering Last Gunfighter series continues with Slaughter. In the lawless West, Frank Morgan is the type of man you want on your side in a fight. But when he ventures into town, trouble always seems to find him. And now, treachery abounds as oil drillers encroach on local ranches, and violence erupts at every turn.

Would you consider the audio edition of Slaughter: The Last Gunfighter to be better than the print version?

Don't have time for print. I can listen to these while I work.

What about Jack Garrett’s performance did you like?

Good job. A different voice than George Guidall which may throw those used to George's fine job, but this was still a great performance.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Slicked in oil!

Any additional comments?

Best Narration ever ! Jack Garrett drew me into all the characters. Wish he did all of the series.
Totally enthralling book. Very well written.
Kudos to The Johnstones! (Even got teary-eyed at the he end when Goldie showed up!)

Wonderfully Done !

This is a good western. This is my first book about Frank Morgan. I think this will be a good and interesting series. This is not the first book in the series. I listened to this one because Jack Garrett narrated it. Jack Garrett does a great job on this book. if this review is any help will you please click on the helpful link below. Thank you.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

After listening to all the previous available books in the series read by George Guidall, Jack Garrett is a supreme disappointment! He lacks the genuine western sound and feel delivered by George Guidall. It was hard to listen to.

How could the performance have been better?

Stay with George Guidall!

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Anger, because I love this series and it's hard to listen to this reader. It's just wrong!

Any additional comments?

Please keep writing the series and please, please, please, always use George Guidall!

Where is George Guidall?

I found the Last Gunfighter series because I follow George Guidall. I don’t care for the graphic audio performances and I really disliked this one. It made the whole story seem so corny and just plain silly. I love following the story of Frank Morgan and have committed a lot of time to the series to have this one off of a different narrator. It’s hard to rate the story because the performance was so ridiculous. And I’m still confused over why or how Stormy is a grey stallion in this one and the last book when he has always been an Appaloosa. Just wishing there was more consistency to the series.

Corny Performance
