The photograph - of a raisin-faced baby wearing something pastel - arrives in a blue envelope. There’s no identification or return address, just an unfamiliar postmark. But something in the baby’s face makes Carlotta keep the snapshot. Three weeks later, she finds out why.

Would you listen to Snapshot again? Why?

Maybe in a few years when I have forgotten the story.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Snapshot?

You can almost hear the wheels churning and understand the precise moment it all comes to gether in her mind.

Have you listened to any of C. J. Critt’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

C J Critt is the reason that I purchased this book. I really enjoy female readers. I feel they have the ablility to change their range per the characters moreso than a male reader can do.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

As a mother who has lost a child, I was moved by the lengths she went to as she followed her motherly instincts....knowing something wasn't right. She was like a dog with a new bone. Everyone thought she was crazy, but she was RIGHT.

Any additional comments?

Looking for another CJ Critt book to listen to. I'd love Linda Barnes to develop this character and start a series with her. She has a little twist that some of the authors of female characters in thrillers do not have. The character is so well developed...she should do more.

Such a darkly depressing departure from the usual mood in the series. Grim, rife with disturbing takes on every front, with so little comedy or goodness to even things out. Disappointing if you’re used to the net feel-good experience found in the preceding installments.

Gloomy pivot
